A Good Reminder

This last week has had a few low points and this verse came across my path a couple times.  It reminded me of what I need to do when the wind is making me unsteady or obscuring my view and the waves are lapping at my feet.  “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.  And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”  Philippians 4:6-7

And might I add this verse to your accumulation of Scriptures? This one came to mind as I read your story and this kept cropping up – “I know the plans I have for them! I know the plans I have for them! I say, I know the plans I have for them.” Knowing this was based on a Scripture that I, personally, have embraced it was easy to locate. You’ll find it in Jeremiah 29:10-11 – “For thus says the Lord, . . . . ‘I will visit you and fulfill My good word to you to bring you back to this place. For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope (in your final outcome)’ ” That in parenthesis is the amplification of the Amplified Bible. “This place” is the place of exile of which we have come out and it appears He is going to take us back to the place where (as you stated) open our closed hands and release our strategy to be immeshed with His strategy. When we are faithful in this – He can then bring us back to that place only when that happens – we are saturated with His grace, His mercy, His love, His plan, His purpose to fulfill the call He placed upon us at that point in time. We are experiencing that fulfillment in our lives as He has brought us back to that place of where we released ourselves – by faith, no less – to the call on our lives. With that fulfillment has come the enjoyment of the harvest and bits and pieces of that harvest are extremely “tasty.” The rest of the harvest will be experienced in eternity and throughout eternity. It will never stop.

Blessings to you and yours as you pursue the path He has set out before you. May you experience HIS GRACE upon GRACE

Thanks so much for your encouraging words, Carol. The verses you shared are some of my favorites and God has reminded us of these numerous times along the journey so far. We know that it won’t always be easy and we are prepared for the whole package because we believe that God’s plans are for our good, even when life is challenging. We are not called to an “easy, comfy life” but one that brings glory to God, our loving creator.
