Big Day Tomorrow

We have court tomorrow morning at 11:00.  Sounds like a nice time of day initially, but we have to be out at the orphanage by 10:00 to drop the kids off and catch a ride with Sergei along with Ilya and Natasha, the social worker.  Our attorney requested that the other kids do not attend this appointment with us.  He has been very gracious in regard to our kids, so we willingly submitted to his plan, although we were planning for them to be there and are a little disappointed.  But it will be special for Ilya to have his parents alone with him.  This means that we need to leave the apartment before 9:00 and take the Metro and then the bus to get there on time.  So it is going to be a little rough.  I’m not a morning person and don’t fake it very well either.  It is further complicated by having to drag all the kids along.  But “We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us!” Phil 4:13

We have complete peace about tomorrow.  We thank you for your prayers and ask you to continue covering us in our final steps to becoming Ilya’s parents.  We love this child so much and we are so glad that God gave us the opportunity to become his mom and dad.  He is a great kid and will be a wonderful addition to our family.  We can’t wait until it’s official!

SOOOOOO, excited for you guys tomorrow! It’s been such a long time in coming and yet it feels like a whirlwind in some ways – at least, to this observer. I am SO grateful for your blog, Jill. It has helped me to feel like I am journeying with you and gives us a glimpse into the heart of your newest addition!! Love & hugs to you from Fargo!

Feels the same way to us! Still rather surreal. Our time in-country has gone so fast, it has been a little hard to adjust to each step. But we are very grateful and it will be good to get back home next week.
